Black Labrador Puppies are precious
and to many the most regal of the
three colors of Labrador Retrievers.
Black is the dominant color
in Labradors with yellow and chocolate being recessive.
Black Labradors were used in
the field for over 100 years due to
general feeling they were more
capable and possessed more stamina
than the other two colors.
That belief is not as
prevalent today due to many
outstanding and accomplished
chocolate and yellow
Labradors.
Black Lab Pups
are intelligent and can either be a
shiny black color or more of a matte
finish.
They are born with eyes and
ears sealed shut until they are
about two weeks of age.
When they first open their
eyes they are blue which gradually
change to brown and their eyesight
strengthens as they age.
Black Labrador Puppies are
born with black pigment on their
noses and feet pads.
